The programme has assisted in paying the salaries of millions of workers who might otherwise have lost their jobs due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\n<h4>Extension of the furlough plan<\/h4>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The furlough will last until September 30 to &#8220;defend the British people&#8217;s employment and lives during the remaining portion of this crisis.&#8221;<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The UK-wide scheme covers up to 80% of an employee&#8217;s wage for the hours they cannot work, with a monthly ceiling of \u00a32,500. Employers already pay pension and National Insurance contributions and will be required to contribute 10% of their furloughed workers&#8217; earnings in July and 20% in August and September.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>According to the latest estimates, the system has supported nearly 11 million employment since March 2020, with four out of ten firms adopting it (the hospitality industry having the highest rates).<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\n<h4>The Recovery Loan Scheme<\/h4>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>After the existing pandemic loan schemes conclude, the Recovery Loan Scheme will ensure that businesses of any size can continue to access loans and finance of up to \u00a310 million per business. This aims to assist firms in recovering and growing following the disruptions caused by both the pandemic and Brexit.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>To assure lending confidence, the government will guarantee 80% of the funds to the lender, and organisations can utilise the funds for any lawful commercial purpose.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The programme will begin on April 6, 2021, and will operate until December 31, subject to review.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The following funds will be available:<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:list -->\n<ul>\n<li>Term loans and overdrafts ranging from \u00a325,001 to \u00a310 million per company.<\/li>\n<li>Invoice finance and asset finance for businesses with a turnover of \u00a31,000 to \u00a310 million.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<!-- \/wp:list -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Term loans and asset finance facilities can have periods of up to six years. Terms for overdrafts and invoice financing will be up to three years. Personal guarantees are not required for loans under \u00a3250,000, and a borrower&#8217;s primary private house cannot be retained as security.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Banks, building societies, insurers and reinsurers, public-sector enterprises, and state-funded elementary and secondary schools are not eligible to apply.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Businesses will have to show that they can:<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:list -->\n<ul>\n<li>They&#8217;re plausible options (or would be were it not for the pandemic)<\/li>\n<li>The pandemic has affected them.<\/li>\n<li>They are not in the process of going bankrupt as a group.<\/li>\n<li>Eligible enterprises who have benefited from the previous coronavirus guaranteed loan programmes will be able to apply for funding under this programme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<!-- \/wp:list -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\n<h4>The Kickstart Scheme<\/h4>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Another option for employers is the Kickstart Scheme, which provides cash to develop new job placements for 16-to-24-year-olds on Universal Credit who are in danger of long-term unemployment.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:list -->\n<ul>\n<li>For a total of 6 months, you will be paid 100% of the National Minimum Wage for 25 hours every week.<\/li>\n<li>Contributions to National Insurance by employers<\/li>\n<li>Contributions to automatic enrollment by employers must be at a minimum.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<!-- \/wp:list -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Employers can defer job placements until the end of December 2021.
